With a dining table and a humble kitchen you won't have to leave, but downtown Hartwell is a 5 minute drive away and offers wonderful restaurants with a nostalgic "Main Street" feel. Here you'll find a mix of antique shops, great local cooking, and seasonal events in the downtown square. A large grocery store, Ingles, is less than 5 minutes away. Some of our guests stop by this Ingles on the way in, and enjoy staying at the cottage the entire trip without having to venture out and break up the relaxation time. The master bedroom offers a plush queen bed with an amazing lake view and a wood-burning fireplace. In the morning brew a pot of coffee and enjoy it in bed as you watch the stunning sunrise over the lake. There are blackout curtains on the windows if you prefer to sleep in and maybe even start a morning fire in the fireplace. Some mornings we enjoy opening the French doors off the master bedroom and eating breakfast at the picnic table on the front porch, quietly enjoying the view. The guest room also has french doors with a lake view and blackout curtains and has a full size bed. The remaining bedroom offers two twin sized beds with soft Pottery Barn bedding. We also have a garage bunkhouse that is only available to guests renting the cottage. If you're interested in renting the bunk house for an additional $300 per stay (this fee covers the air conditioning and another housekeeper), we'll give you a separate code for the door. It features four twin sized beds, one full sized futon, and an en suite bathroom with stand up shower. You'll also have your own Keurig coffee maker in the garage apartment (just bring your own k-cups). The view from the expansive lakeside window is amazing!! There is no dock with this property; however, it’s a gentle slope into the lake on the cove. The "beach" is a 10 minute walk from the cabin where you can take the kids for easy access to the water or swim right in the cove. From the cabin you continue to the right down to the end of Tranquility Lane and then take the footpath about 100 yards down to the lake. This is a very easy walk with no hills and I provide a pull cart for whatever you might like to take with you. This cabin is Ideal for 4 people and that is how it is priced; however, with an air mattress provided it will accommodate up to 6 people. I charge $25/person/night over 4 people. Each of our houses are unique and private, with access to the dock, riding trails, use of our outdoor kitchen area and each has it’s own firepit and outdoor area. “The Don” sits nestled in shady pines but overlooks our big pasture. We are a rescue farm of about 50 animals ranging from horses, calves, sheep, emu, giant tortoise, lots of dogs and chickens and two mini-donkeys. It has a full sized bathroom with a garden tub/shower. Step out the of the Great Room and Dining Area to the back porch with a bead board ceiling, relaxing porch swing, and ceiling fans. Take the staircase from the main level to the second level where you will find a bedroom that has two twin beds. There is also another bedroom that has a full size bed. One of the most unique features of this house is the upstairs bathroom. It has an antique chrome footed tub and pedestal sink. If you take the staircase to the basement you will find a very open living room area there as well. The basement also hosts a very spacious queen bedroom and a seperate full bathroom with a slate tiled shower and floors. The laundry room is also located in the basement. We have an air mattress, water floats, and life jackets for guests staying with us. From the basement door you can walk out onto a large concrete patio. Beautiful 60 acre horse farm on Lake Hartwell. A gorgeous destination for weddings and events, we have two homes available for rent, along with stall and pasture availability for those traveling with horses. One cottage is a three bedroom with two king-sized beds, one queen-sized bed and one full-sized. We also have a one bedroom cabin that sleeps four, with a full-sized bed plus a two person futon. To access the smaller cabin, please look at our other listing, Spotted Fawn Farm/Cabin, The Don, or Lake House. Our farm is located on the boarder of Georgia and South Carolina, about 10 minutes off I-85. We have four cottages that are professionally decorated, are pet friendly to WELL BEHAVED LEASHED DOGS, and are also accessible by boat. (Please note that dogs left alone in the house must be in a crate!) Our places are spread out over the farm and are all very different, just like our guests. There is a lower driveway that makes taking coolers and kayaks to the dock easier. Our farm has long winding trails, babbling creeks, sunny pastures with exotic animals and loads of horses. There is a shared boat dock for sunning or docking and cocktail hour always starts at 4:00! We frequently host weddings and events and special packages can be arranged. We love families and it is the perfect place to get away from technology and enjoy nature. (Although we have added WiFi for work getaways.) We are available and set up for weddings. The entire property is wooded, right down to the waterfront. Tons of shoreline and you can walk several hundred feet of shoreline for exploring or fishing. You can fish directly from the banks, dipping your line into a clear creek where you can see the fish swimming as the sunlight shines through the trees, or fish off the dock as well. Enjoy gorgeous sunset views from the dock. The cove has little boat traffic and with the property situated closer to the end, swimming and floating off the dock is a relaxing experience. There are no docks at all to our right looking up the cove, and the other docks in sight are far enough away to truly have a private feel. The lighted walkway to the dock is approximately 200 feet, it is a very gentle sloping walk, meandering alongside the creek, and over a little bridge. The dock has a walkway that connects to the land and is not visible from the home's deck. To access the lake side of the home you must go down the stairs to the 1st level of the home (through the game room or using the outside deck stairs). There is a kid’s wagon with 2 seats/seatbelts, a metal wagon that's good for lake gear and a wheeled cooler. There are wood Adirondack chairs on the dock, a couple of zero gravity chairs, a glider bench, and a bench seat as well as umbrella for shade. The open area of the dock is about 16x16 plus the 2 walkways alongside the boat. The lake view is amazing, and it is so private compared to some other areas of the lake. Take the paddle boat or kayak out onto the water - it's almost always calm out there and we typically see very few boats in our large deepwater cove. Feel free to bring your own motorboat and tie up to our dock. Access the water from the shoreline or use the convenient steps down into the water from the dock. The neighborhood is terrific for biking on a paved surface- it's very quiet, well-established with several year round homeowners. Please note, there is NO SMOKING on this property. For your convenience, the kitchen is well equipped with all the usual cookware plus a large roasting pan, muffin, cake & cookie pans, crock pot, electric griddle, waffle maker, quesadilla maker, electric chopper, coffee grinder, blender, mixer, electric juicer, a keurig & a drip coffee maker, 4 slice toaster & toaster oven. The pantry is stocked with all the basic spices & other staples required when creating a terrific meal. All mattresses and pillows have zippered waterproof protectors.
